The objective of the association is the promotion of natural reforestation, the conservation and regeneration of forests through all actions and people committed to this aim. We especially work towards increasing public awareness concerning the necessity for extensive additional CO2 storage and furthering large-scale sustainable CO2 absorption by means of forests . We aim to promote a broad environmental awareness based on economic, ecological and social factors and also to encourage personal responsibility for one’s social environment. Furthermore the association seeks to support the establishment of other charitable organisations with the same aims.
- We work to achieve these aims through coordination, distribution and implementation of forest teaching concepts, among others especially those concerning forest seeding for the purpose of reforestation or regeneration of forests and woodlands. The implementation of these concepts is carried out with no restriction regarding the target group, e.g. regional, intellectual, cultural or any other kind. As an example projects with school classes or youth groups are to be organized as teaching games during which tree seeds are collected in mother forests which have been approved by forestries and then sown on suitable sites (squirrel principle). These projects have the aim of increasing the children’s environmental awareness and their own initiative on the one hand and establishing new, natural, seeded forests on the other hand. In addition workshops and training sessions for adults are to be carried out in order to clarify the important role of forests in mitigating the global CO2 problem and to explain the background and benefits of the forest seeding method. Training workshops for potential coaches are also to be held to enable them to organize and carry out projects as mentioned above independently. Moreover all activities which further the objectives of the WaldSaat e.V./Forest Seeding Association are to be launched and actively supported. Among others the collecting, recording and provision of relevant basic information e.g. on the forest seeding method , as well as suggestions or if need be the assignment of relevant studies or research.
