The Forest Seeding Association’s Cooperation Partners

Kinderwald

Kinderwald Kiel

“Kinderwald – Children’s Forest – Society for Forest Education” runs its own forest kindergarten in Kiel where teachers and foresters work closely together. Kinderwald also runs a training programme for interested teachers. Education is linked directly to natural science knowledge in forests, thus incorporating and developing an understanding of nature and fostering a sense of responsibility and social awareness. The relationships between natural phenomena are explained, children experience seasonal changes, they observe, hear, feel, taste: nature is understood. In autumn 2008 members of the Kinderwald were in Altenholz helping Susanne Simpson and regional forester Oeltzen carry out a Squirrel Forest Campaign project (Aktion Eichhörnchen) in the woods there with primary schoolchildren from Altenholz-Stift. In 2009 Kinderwald is planning events in the whole of Schlewig-Holstein!

Gerling + Langen Wald & Forst-Service

In everyday life our association members and foresters Sebastian Langen and Sven Gerling run their own firm “Gerling + Langen Wald & Forst-Service“ in Hilter in North Rhine- Westphalia. In their free time they are fervent supporters of WaldSaat e.V. (The Forest Seeding Association). For example Sven and Sebastian represented Aktion Eichhörnchen (Squirrel Forest Campaign) and demonstrated the forest seeding method at the first "Plant-for-the-Planet"-Akademie in the Harz mountains. Moreover both are keen to assist anyone who would like to organize a Squirrel Forest Campaign project in the northern part of North Rhine-Westphalia or in Lower Saxony:

Plant-for-the-Planet

Plant-for-the-Planet

Plant-For-The-Planet aims to plant as many trees as possible, as quickly as possible. As everyone knows this will create many new forests which will be a highly efficient offset to reduce our excessive CO2 emissions. Even though the word “Plant” in the name refers to planting trees, the Plant-For-The-Planet campaign has nothing against forest seeding. That was why WaldSaat e.V. (The Forest Seeding Association) was present at the first "Plant-for-the-Planet" Academy in autumn 2008 and explained to the schoolchildren, who had come to take part, how we can also sow forests.
